One of Bermuda's most popular sports, the British brought football to the Island in the early 1900s. The Bermuda Football Association (BFA) was founded in 1928 and, 34 years later, it became affiliated with both CONCACAF and FIFA.
The BFA launched the Bermudian Premier Division in 1963, which to this day is the Island's top football division. In 2006, the BFA founded the Bermuda Hogges, a professional football club that began play in the USL Second Division in the United States. After the 2011 season, the Bermuda Hogges was no longer playing in this division.
Today, the Bermuda Football Association is a member of the Caribbean Football Union in addition to FIFA and CONCACAF. The BFA also organizes the Bermuda national football team.
