With the warmer weather comes something else in Bermuda - cruise ship season! As we approach the hottest months of the year, arrivals are soon to be in full swing. In 2018, cruise ship arrivals are growing to 180 ships with 470,000 passengers - that’s 19 more ships and 53,500 more visitors than in 2017.
Cruise ship tourism positively impacts Bermuda’s economy, as visitors shop, eat, drink and play during their Island visits. Most seasonal cruise ship arrivals come from the United States, docking between the months of April and October. Popular U.S. ports of departure include Baltimore, Maryland; New York, New York; Boston, Massachusetts; and Charleston, South Carolina. Smaller cruise ships dock at St. George’s and in the City of Hamilton while large and mega-ships dock at the Royal Naval Dockyard.
