The Bermuda Railway Trail is known for offering one of the Island's most scenic strolls. It follows the path of the Bermuda Railway from the Island's East to West Ends.
In operation from 1931 to 1947, the Bermuda Railway was sold to the British Guiana (Guyana) by the Bermuda Government. The land was neglected for many years until preservation and enhancement efforts were undertaken in the 1980s. Today, 19 of the Bermuda Railway Trail's 21 miles form a 100-acre park.
The trail's 9 sections vary in length, up to 3.75 miles, offering landscape the varies from inland woods to rocky coastline. Ideal for walking, cycling and jogging, details are included in Bermuda's "Map and Guide," which is available at the Dockyard, St. George's and Hamilton Visitor's Service Bureaus.
