Bermudian locals and visitors enjoy a wide range of sports, with the most popular including cricket, golf and soccer. Read on to learn more about these games and the events associated with them.
Cricket
Bermuda’s top sport, cricket is played throughout the Island, mainly in midsummer. There are approximately 30 regional teams and the most watched event - Cup Match - is a weekend-long festival that pits the St. George’s and Somerset cricket clubs against one another and sees huge annual turnout. It’s not to be missed!
Golf
Bermuda offers the finest golfing and has more courses per capita than anywhere else in the world. Tournaments are held frequently and October’s annual Bermuda Open at the Port Royal Golf Course is among the most publicized.
Soccer
Soccer plays an important role in Bermuda’s elementary and high schools. There are many youth games held throughout the year and, in April, the annual Diadora Youth Soccer Cup sees teams from many neighbouring companies arriving to compete.
